Hello again atmosphere folks - Many things have changed since the summer. For one: Blogging has gotten a lot more visual - with leading services and competing for the hearts of artists, and since atprotocol allows you to move your data wherever you want - they have to lol. hint hint they also both allow NSFW.

You can now host whole simple websites here on which can include subpages

which will allow you to basically have a no-code website easily editable from mobile - and run newsletters with leaflet pro!

Not to be outshown, also now allows you the ability to pin images to the top of your blog, crop images straight from the blog editor, and display small status-text notes on your blog as well as set backgrounds - and also use it as a newsletter.

New: image galleries, lightboxing, and more โ€” great for photos, illustrations, comics & other visual publishing! ๐ŸŒ…๐ŸŒ†๐ŸŒ‰๐Ÿž๏ธ๐ŸŽ†๐Ÿ™๏ธ ๐Ÿ”ธ image gallery block with three modes: grid, carousel, strip ๐Ÿ”บ lightboxing for both galleries & single images ๐Ÿ”น *also* improved alt text & made it easier to add cover images

video of a demo gallery, with eight leaf-themed images, showing different image gallery options (grid, carousel, vertical strip) and browsing the gallery with lightboxed view

The good news is that whatever you choose: you'll be visible on both + more.

There's even readers like that aggregate all writers across the platform and RSS is supported natively wherever you choose to read!

SPLITMANTRA 's leaflet portfolio was built entirely on his ipad, making it a good option for mobile locked artists to have a website/portfolio/newsletter combo

Leaflet also has canvases which are drag and drop, allowing you to pull in different types of media. You can also draw on them! On both desktop and mobile.

And now, most importantly: Comics.

Comics have had a big couple months here on the atmosphere, you see it all started when I cried because neocities wouldn't update my javascript even though it was a valid and I cleared the cache like 1500 times. So I opened up Figma and in a fury put together a quick interface that I thought would be implementable quickly with annotations. Now, I don't work for leaflet. I thought my yells would go straight into the void - but alas - while they ended up looking kind of different - we got closer than I thought.

A lot closer in fact -

And so little by little, many comics started popping up here on leaflet -

With and adding support in for comics on their services and then eventually last week a dev that I had spoke to about building a set of standards for comics popped back up for the first time in months. introducing

Sequential.work โ€” Lexicons for comics on AT Protocol
Shared lexicon schemas for comics on AT Protocol. Webtoons, comic books and comic strips under work.sequential.*
https://sequential.work/

I still didn't think too much of it until they hit me up in private finally unveiling

You can read up my full read up of it right here - but with the closure of Tapas many webcomics creators were already clamoring for an equivalent service, and for some reason I'd been invited to be the first to try it.

Or Scazrelet's entire blog which has TONS of resources, tutorials, and interesting bits.

I've even got a little art learning blog

and one for an art project showing off all the cool services here, showing that atprotocol is way more than just microblogging and bluesky

Oh, and for NSFW creators - there's a sex worker owned tool for Bluesky called and beyond that, that has a lot of amazing features for growth - and I've heard they're adding support for tumblr and Xitter crossposting too.

See you in the next one :)
